Aphonic Echotopia

FLUTEN Weimar, 2025

First installation of Aphonic Echotopia, and lecture performance

After the Flood: Permeable Learnscapes, curated by Giuliana Marmo for FLUTEN Weimar

Stockwerk Galerie, Weimar, October 2025

Lecture performance: 19 October 2025

At FLUTEN Weimar, Aphonic Echotopia was shown for the first time as an installation: a long-durational piece of 24 hours of audio, composed from soundscapes recorded over two years of research in Western Thrace, together with witness accounts on the wall.

Within the installation, the lecture performance took place: a live reading transmitted through radio receivers distributed in the space. Drawn from field notes, earwitness testimonies, and reflections on the post-wildfire Dadia Forest in Greece, it unfolded as a slow-paced collective listening experience to a damaged yet resonant landscape of the borderland.
