A choir guides the audience, listening through wireless headphones, through the Richard-Wagner-Hain in Leipzig, where in 1934 the cornerstone was laid for a Wagner monument that was never completed. The work traces the history of the grove from the Weimar Republic through National Socialism and the GDR to the present, and engages with Wagner’s antisemitic writings and the nationalist themes in his music, asking what it means to visit a place with this history: “What was built here, and for whom?”
For the two live performances in September 2026 I did the live sound mixing.
