In August 2026 I took part for the second time in the residency of the ERC project MUTE on Hydra, curated by Anna Papaeti, which this year was dedicated to Doing History through Sound: Acoustemologies of Resistance. My talk opened from where I had left the research the year before on the same island, with Dadia, the mountain villages of Komotini, the Rodopi valley and the E85, and I framed listening at the border as a weave, following Glissant.
In this talk I played recordings made in Roussa, an Alevi village in Western Thrace, during the village festival in August 2025, and presented them as research material rather than as a finished piece. The talk listened to how recognition, resistance within the community and state pressures are carried in sound, in song and in public speech.
